Guacamole is one of my favourite Mexican dishes that's both delicious and nutritious. It's a very tasty, simple and quick recipe. If you want to enjoy the creamy goodness of ripe avocados, Guacamole is the best dish to try on. It's perfect as a dip, spread and is also an accompaniment to many dishes.
I first tried this recipe with my cousin and was amazed by it’s taste, it turned out so delicious and appetising. So, now I would like to share this worth-trying recipe with my readers too. I hope whosoever will try it, will definitely fall in love with its taste.
Ingredients Checklist:
1. Ripe Avocados (2-3)
2. Red Onion (½)
3. Tomatoes (1 medium)
4. Fresh Cilantro
5. Lime (1)
6. Jalapeño Pepper (1, optional)
7. Garlic (1 clove)
8. Salt (to taste)
9. Black Pepper (to taste)
Road to Make Guacamole:
Step 1: Preparation of avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop into a mixing bowl. With a fork, mash the flesh until your desired consistency is reached: chunky for some, smooth for others.
Step 2: Chopping
Finely mince the red onion. Seed and dice the tomatoes very small. Chop the leaves from the cilantro. Seed and mince the jalapeño if you want some heat. Also, mince the clove of garlic.
Step 3: Combining the Ingredients
Stir the chopped red onion, tomatoes, and cilantro into the mashed avocado. If you like it hot, add the minced jalapeño. Squeeze in the juice of one lime.
Step 4: Make love to it
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Gently fold all the ingredients together without overmixing it; taste it and adjust the seasoning to your liking.
Step 5: Final touch
Cover the guacamole and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes in the refrigerator so that the flavours can develop. Stir gently just before serving, and garnish with a few extra cilantro leaves.
Serve with tortilla chips, use as a topping for tacos, or as a spread for sandwiches.
